Jennifer began her journey working with new mothers and families ten years ago, after graduating from the University of Texas with a degree in nutrition. She worked as a nutritionist with the WIC program for five years, which is where she found my passion as an educator and breastfeeding counselor. She became a Board Certified Lactation Consultant in 2013, and after working as a lactation consultant with WIC, she began working at Seton Medical Center as a lactation consultant, both on the Mother Baby Unit and the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit). At that time she decided to pursue a second degree in nursing, and after obtaining her BSN in 2016, she transitioned to work as a postpartum nurse at Seton Medical Center.
Currently Jennifer works with the City of Austin as a nurse and lactation consultant doing outpatient breastfeeding support and management. She is so happy to share her clinical and personal breastfeeding experiences with the families she works with. In her spare time, she loves to spend time outdoors, soaking up the sun with her husband and two daughters, Olivia and Evie, and their two dogs, Rubee and Mary, who keep them on their toes!
